10 Huge Differences Between Marvel Movies And The Comics

7. The Vision Is J.A.R.V.I.S

Like Drax, Vision's origin stories in film and comic are vaguely similar, but divert in significant ways.

In both continuities, the Vision is an android created by Ultron. However, while in Age of Ultron he was simply programmed with Tony Stark's AI JARVIS, in the comics he had an entire synthetic brain, made for him from the brainwaves of the superhero Wonder Man (who has yet to appear in the MCU outside of Nathan Fillion's brilliant parody film posters that were cut from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2).

While these brainwaves made the comic version of the Vision sentient from the get go (and kicked off a decades long love triangle with the two heroes and Scarlet Witch), the MCU version required the help of the Mind Gem to become fully conscious. This also ties the Vision into the story of Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet and deviates even further from his comic inspiration, whose forehead bling is a Solar Jewel that allows him to absorb sunlight and fire energy blasts.

Of course, with an Infinity Stone lodged firmly in his forehead, it seems likely that Vision will follow his comic counterpart's tendency of getting smashed to pieces once Thanos comes calling.
