10 Hulk Fates Worse Than Death

9. Knowing You Killed Your Wife - Incredible Hulk #466

Abomination Immortal Hulk
Marvel Comics

Marvel Comics has never shied away from the dangers of introducing radioactive... fluids into a non-superpowered character. After all, there's that whole thing about how Spider-Man ended up killing Mary Jane with his radioactive semen in Spider-Man: Reign, but that's not the only time that happened in the comics.

For Dr. Bruce Banner, it turns out that having a body completely flush with gamma radiation isn't exactly safe, no matter how much protection you use. Yes, it's sad but true that poor Betty Ross became the victim of Banner's radioactive seminal fluids in Incredible Hulk #466's "Of All Sad Words," and let's just say, the good Doctor didn't take it well.

The thing about killing Betty with his radioactive seed is, shouldn't he have known something like that might happen? After all, he wasn't just a run-of-the-mill doctor or anything; the guy was a specialist when it came to Gamma radiation and its effects on the body, so he should have seen that coming.

Unfortunately, neither he nor Betty thought about his 'ailment' before getting down and dirty a bunch of times, and she paid the ultimate price. Bruce was left to live on knowing that he literally banged his wife to death, and that's definitely a fate worse than death.
