10 Immortal Comic Book Villains (And How They Died)
3. Galactus
Marvel’s monstrous planet muncher has killed billions (perhaps even trillions) in his ongoing quest to satisfy his cosmic hunger. One of the biggest threats in all of the Marvel pantheon, Galactus was reborn into the Marvel universe in his current, terrifying form after being Galan from the planet Taa, the sole survivor of a previous, now deceased universe.
It’s safe to say killing Galactus is a tall order but far from impossible. Galactus’ herald turned foe, The Silver Surfer, took him out completely by using Galactus’ world consuming machine against the giant himself. This major moment took place during a miniseries centred on Galactus himself and would not be the last time Big Purple was sent packing to the after-life.
He proved to be a Christmas sized feast for the Marvel Zombies and is one of many immortal figures to be taken out in the Age of Apocalypse timeline by Magneto and friends (it’s a shame for the X-Men Magneto’s not like this in the regular continuity really).
For film fans, a great, big cloud of intense space flatulence is killed in quick and surprisingly easy fashion by the Silver Surfer in Fantastic Four 2: The Rise of the Silver Surfer.
