10 Insane Alternate Superhero Origins You Won't Believe Exist

One of the greatest, most famous and most beloved of all superhero origins goes to Peter Parker. Geeky young Pete takes a bite from an irradiated spider, grows an ego and uses his powers for profit, side steps stopping a robber leading to the tragic murder of Uncle Ben. From there Parker understands the importance of that whole great power, great responsibility thing and becomes The Amazing Spider-Man we know and love.

Great stuff. Now let’s do a little role reversal and ask, what if good old Ben Parker suffered that fateful spider bite instead?

In amongst the millions of alternate Earths of the Marvel multiverse, there’s Earth-3145 and a much older Spider-Man. Uncle Ben becomes Spider-Man much quicker than Peter Parker did after the bite being all wise and life lessoned beforehand. He protects New York much like the usual Spidey and ultimately suffers the heartbreaking losses of both his wife May and his nephew Peter when the two are murdered by his dastardly nemesis, The Emerald Elf.
