During the Golden Age of DC comics, Wonder Woman creator William Moulton Marston filled the role of head writer too and ensured the title remained (mostly at least) a proud work of feminist pop art by the standards of the time. In the wake of his departure however, Wonder Woman comics took a very notable shift into less action and more romance with the comic world’s second favourite war veteran to go by the name of Steve.

Obsessed with locking his beloved Wonder Woman into marriage, Trevor suffers a near death experience. The incident leads in to Wonder Woman agreeing and being reborn as a peaceful homemaker at the beck and call of her military man husband.

Subsequently, it turns out Wonder Woman’s not cut out for the traditional housewife role and she’s getting distracted helping others all the time. Between endless interrupted dates and the fact that Wonder Woman can’t master the art of cooking dinner, the whole thing begins to go seriously downhill. It’s almost like Wonder Woman was meant to be the superhero rather than the love interest or something...
