10 Insane Alternate Superhero Origins You Won't Believe Exist

5. Dark Claw

DC Comics/Marvel Comics

When it comes to popularity, one’s in pretty good company with Batman and Wolverine.

So what about a cross between the 2?

Young Logan Wayne tragically witnesses his parents' murders and is sent away to live in Alberta, Canada with his uncle who in turn is also murdered.

Tough break.

From there he serves in the air force and hangs out with a certain Creed H. Quinn. Joining the infamous Weapon X program, Wayne discovers the extent of his mutant abilities and has his bones bonded with adamantium.

Both Logan and Creed are dropped from the program with Logan being too noble to become their ideal assassin and Creed growing way too insane to be trusted with even the simplest of assignments.

Returning to New Gotham City, Logan uses his powers and skills for good, becoming Dark Claw, the world’s greatest detective. Determined to avenge his parents and his uncle, Dark Claw fights crime and butts heads with dastardly nemesis, Hyena (Creed H. Quinn’s alter ego, confirming him as a gross amalgamation of The Joker and Sabretooth).

With trusty allies Sparrow (if Jubilee were somehow Robin) and Huntress, Dark Claw was an especially popular member of the rather bizarre Amalgam comics line during the 90s.

John Cunningham hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
