10 Insane Alternate Versions Of Black Panther You Won't Believe Exist

The 2099 imprint is easily one of the best things Marvel ever introduced. While not every comic worked (some were even downright horrible) a lot of them worked very well. And one of the better examples is Black Panther 2099.

T'Challa is long dead, the throne now going to his last son, K'Shamba. Shame then that he doesn't get to enjoy his throne, seeing as how Wakanda has more or less sold itself lock stock and barrel to Doctor Doom (long story there) and thus brandished him as a threat to Doom's rule.

K'Shamba took his pregnant wife and fled for their lives, only barely being saved from a Doombot by the growing Wakandan resistance movement. K'Shamba proceeds to inherit the mantle of Black Panther like the Wakandan kings before him, and lead the resistance to victory against the tyrannical rule of Doom.

The secret weapon behind the 2099 imprint was how it always felt like this was exactly where the Marvel universe would be in a hundred years. And this version of Black Panther immediately feels like he belongs in this universe with almost zero effort. Making him an unexpected, but also easily the best, alternate version of Black Panther ever.
