Returning from World War One to his family run store, Castle's life would be touched by tragedy when cancer claims his wife, leaving Frank Sr to raise his son by himself. Matters are only complicated further when a new mob moves into the neighbourhood and starts to demand protection money from everyone, but being a double hard bastard he refuses to pay, and lays a serious smackdown on his would-be assailants. In doing so, he incurs the wrath of their rather unstable boss.

The story of one man's refusal to bow to a mafia run city becomes one of vengeance after three hitmen are sent to dispatch him, and soon enough the familiar white skull motif will be worn by both father and son.
