10 Insane Alternate Versions Of Superman You Won't Believe Exist

5. Harvey Dent, Superman

Tangent Comics was a whole line of alternate reality stories told in the DC Universe, with strange new takes on everyone from The Flash to the Secret Six. Inspired by Franz Kafka's The Metamorphosis, a nightmarish short story about a normal man who wakes up one morning to find himself slowly transforming into a beetle, the Tangent Universe's Superman was a regular guy who gets touched by a "god force" and finds his brain rapidly evolving so that he reaches a higher plane of existence. Or something. Also the guy is called Harvey Dent, but he isn't Two Face. Having introduced the character and his powerful telekinetic abilities in the original one-shot, the Superman of Earth-9 reappeared in the miniseries Tangent: Superman's Reign, where he ruled his alternate reality using his crazy powers whilst wearing what looks like a bathrobe. He eventually ended up fighting heroes from the main DC Universe and gets knocked out by the regular Superman, which was disappointing for everyone, because then he got arrested and wasn't allowed to wear his dressing gown any more.
