10 Insane Marvel Alternate Universes You Won’t Believe Exist
6. The One Where Spider-Man Has Six Arms - Spider-Man Annual (Vol. 3) #1
Over the years, countless version of Spider-Man have appeared, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed to be part of the Marvel canon. A Spider-Man made of spiders exists, there's a Spider-Man who is basically god, and - perhaps most charmingly - there is a universe where Aunt May is Spider-Ma'am, a beloved geriatric fighter of crime.
And yet, paradoxically, one of the most delightful alternate universe Spider-Men is also one of the most comparatively plain. Aside from a slightly higher costumed crime rate, Earth-28204 is exactly the same as our regular Earth, and Parker Peterman is much the same as our Peter Parker.
Except for one crucial difference: Peterman's spider mutation also happened to give him six arms, providing him a good spider-like eight limbs. As such, Parker had to reveal his secret identity to the public, as his only other option was to cut off four of his own arms. If the visual of this alone isn't wild to you, Parker's personal development as a result of his extra arms might be.
Because Peterman is, in short, really good at his job, to the extent each set of his arms has it's own hobby to keep it occupied when only four arms are needed.
So the next time you think about telling someone to man up, you might want to consider telling them to spider up - as it seems way more effective somehow.
