10 INSANE Times Superman Beat Batman

6. Justice League: Origins #2

Batman: The Dark Knight Vol. 2 #5 Batman Superman
DC Comics

In the second issue of the “Origins” story arc, Batman and Green Lantern traveled to Metropolis having just met each other moments ago in Gotham. The Dark Knight continued his initial complaint that Hal was too bright and attracted too much attention. Lantern encased Bruce in a construct cage as Superman arrived, saying to let him handle this. Supes smacked Jordan through the cage and a couple of parked cars. As Batman rose up, Clark asked, “What can you do?”

When we returned to the fight, Superman remarked that Barman has emptied his entire utility belt against him to no avail, as the Boy Scout slammed Bruce into a wall and began asking him what he knew about the mysterious boxes. Green Lantern regained consciousness and rejoined the fight, first trying to capture Superman in chains, which he thought was ludicrous, and a shield to protect himself and Batman.

The Flash had also reluctantly joined the fight, at the request of Green Lantern. Batman finally stopped the battle, explaining that they knew nothing about the Parademons and that they only came to Superman because Bruce believed that, as an alien, he might have some insight in the boxes. The quartet had to hide in the sewers when government agents descend on their location before they could finish their conversation. Elsewhere, the boxes began acting strangely.
