When Jason Aaron closes out his years-long run on Thor, it'll be remembered as one of the best Marvel books to have featured the God of Thunder. In terms of recent Marvel books it's definitely up there with Matt Fraction and David Aja's Hawkeye, while its scale alone distinguishes it from all other superhero stories currently on stands.

War of the Realms, although separate to the main Thor series, is still the culmination of Aaron's work on the character. He's joined once again by the dynamic Russell Dauterman on pencils and Matt Wilson on colours, but this time it's more than just the God of Thunder who's involved.

War of the Realms is everything a good Marvel event should be. It's big and bombastic, but it's also incredibly unique. Aaron assembles line-ups and individual teams that fans couldn't have possibly predicted when the series was announced, ensuring that, while the situation for Earth's Mightiest Heroes is certainly dire, everything is still really fun.

Also Daredevil is now the God Without Fear. That's worth the price of admission alone.
