10 Marvel Characters You Didn't Know Were Avengers

The Day Walker is finally revealed as a member of the team in Avengers #700, when the Wasp, now known as Agent of Wakanda, busts him out of a dungeon in Dracula's castle.

He's brought into the fold to help stop a vampire war between ol' Vlad and the Shadow Colonel, who has decided that enough is enough and it's time for a regime change. Though Blade being Blade, his idea of stopping it is to kill the lot of them, thereby negating any unrest and getting rid of a ton of bloodsuckers in the process.

But, this isn't the first time that he had been part of an Avengers squad.

Back in 1972, he would join up with the Mighty Avengers to stop the Deathwalkers from stealing the Talisman of Kamar-Taj, and thus destroying the whole of existence. Or something. It was the 70s, a lot of wired stuff was happening.

Yet the best time he had was during Mark Millar’s run on the Ultimate Avengers series, where he was pretty much front and center during this entire time.
