10 Marvel Characters You Didn't Know Were Avengers
6. Spider-Woman
After the Secret Invasion storyline, Jessica Drew would become a very busy lady. First off she joins the Avengers, then she joins the Lady Liberators, all the while being a member of S.W.O.R.D.
While on these teams she will be present at the Seige of Asgard, help defeat an alternative version of Apocolypse and his Four Horsemen, be there when they confront the Illuminati and hunt for Professor X's Infinity Gem.
Eventually, this all becomes a bit too much for her and, after the climax of the Spider-Verse story where they defeat the Inheritors, she decides that enough is enough, quits, and focuses on helping normal people who are victims of crime.
But she wasn't the first Spider-Woman to join the Avengers. That honor goes to the second woman to carry that name, Jessica Carpenter a.k.a Madame Web.
While the team is being held captive on the island of Demonica (where do these lunatics keep getting all these islands from?), this Spider-Woman will help free them from captivity, along with the help of Captain America and Sunfire, thus guaranteeing her an instant place of the squad.
