10 Marvel Heroes You Won't Believe Defeated Hulk

Daredevil is in no way shape or form the strongest hero out there, and he never has been. What makes Matt Murdock such a competent fighter is that he's an expert martial-artist and supremely agile, skills that are aided by the radar vision he has in place of traditional eyesight.

He's not one you'd expect to fight Marvel's strongest opponents, and indeed, it's rare that he's ever gone up against them. That said, there was one particularly hairy encounter Daredevil had with the Hulk, and while it was very close to being a Pyrrhic victory than an out and out win, the Man Without Fear more than lived up to his name.

Faced with the prospect of a rampaging Hulk in the middle of NYC in Daredevil #163, ol' Horn Head takes him head on, trying to slow him down whilst getting to the root cause of this latest frenzy - that famed hatred for Bruce Banner. Things don't go according to plan though, and as Matt makes a desperate bid to calm Hulk down by telling him that he and Banner are one and the same, the opposite effect is achieved, and the Strongest There Is goes apoplectic.

As Hulk stands ready to deliver the killing blow, Matt pleads once last time that he's only trying to help. And he actually gets through to him! Hulk flees the scene in anguish, distraught at what he'd just done, and faced with the realisation that he and Banner were, like Daredevil said, truly one and the same.
