10 Messed Up Marvel Villains You Won't Believe Exist

Ok, so, on the surface, 'Mad Jim Jaspers' probably sounds like some sort of cowboy villain from an old dime novel than some sort of terrifying other-worldly creature who plagues the Marvel universe, but that doesn't mean he's to be trifled with.

There are lots of things that make Jim Jaspers a terrifying force. His creepy moustache, his anti-mutant agenda... the fact he was a UK prime minister in the Marvel universe - all of them go some way in intimating the sheer cosmic horror on display with the character, who boasts reality warping powers and has faced off with the likes of Captain Britain and the mutants of the X-Men and Excalibur on numerous occasions.

Although Mad Jim might not have the star power of Thanos or Mephisto, he is widely considered to be among the most powerful figures in the entire Marvel mythos, rivalling some of the most famous cosmic characters in terms of his ability. He was able to take over the United Kingdom (although not a difficult task, probably), and his powers actually stretch between entire realities, with Jaspers even capable of tearing a given reality apart should he indulge too heavily.

The only way to defeat Jaspers is to take him outside of the universe, which isn't a particularly easy feat when all's said and done.
