10 Mind-Blowing Facts About Iron Man
1. An Armour For Every Situation
Sometimes Iron Man will encounter a situation which is too much for even his super advanced armour. To that end he also has a collection of specialised suits to deal with specific problems.
The most famous of these is the Hulkbuster, a giant suit of power armour designed to trade blows with the Hulk should he go out of control (as seen in Age of Ultron). However, less known is the fact that he also had a Thorbuster armour in case the God of Thunder ever went rogue, built to resemble the Asgardian weapon the Destroyer. Thor destroyed the armour out of anger when he discovered that Tony was using an Asgardian crystal, meant to provide mankind with a new fuel source, to power it.
Other specialised armours include a sleek black stealth suit that can blend into its surroundings, a bulky yellow undersea suit designed to function in high pressure and even a series of suits that allowed him to leave Earth's atmosphere. The most advanced of these was the Deep Space Armour, which allowed Tony to temporarily join the Guardians of the Galaxy.
He's also designed armour for other heroes, including suits for James Rhodes (War Machine) and Pepper Potts (Rescue) and he even once built a special costume for Spider-Man, equipped with three mechanical retractable spider-legs.
