1. Thinking Girls Hate Comics

The biggest misconception about the world of comic books is undoubtedly thinking that there is a distinct lack of girls - and this is a massive error. In fact, some people think that comic books and the liking of comic books is sure fire way to repel girls - again, very, very wrong. Get yourself to any comic convention and you will find that there is pretty much a 50/50 split between male and female guests, with females getting in to the cosplay side of things just as much as the guys. Granted, comic books aren't every girl's cup of tea, but they aren't every guy's cup of tea either, but to dismiss the world of comic books as being completely devoid of girls is to display a remarkable amount of ignorance!
