10 More Most Disgusting Comic Book Deaths

5. Ares - Siege

Hulk Kills Iron Man
Marvel Comics

The early to mid 2000s saw some of the darkest storylines in Marvel history. From Civil War, to Avengers: Disassembled, to House of M, this was some of the bleakest material the house of ideas ever put out. And Siege is most definitely among them.

While nowhere near as impactful in the long term as the previously mentioned storylines, Siege still has its moments. And one of the standouts of the entire event was when Sentry ripped Ares in half.

Like the esteemed competition, Marvel's idea of having a religious lore in their universe without offending anyone by pretending theirs doesn't exist is to have every religion everywhere be 100% true all at once. This, of course, includes the ancient Greek mythology.

When Ares comes down to have some fun with the carnage around him, Marvel's Superman ripoff, Sentry, decides that he is not in the mood for Ares' shenanigans, and so grabs him with both hands and rips him in two, from head to crotch. And of course, the moment is made complete with a nice full view of Ares' innards flying everywhere.
