10 Most Disastrous Comic Book Misprints

3. Avengers #160: The Grim Reaper

When the Grim Reaper appears in a comic book he should probably be the most badass thing in said comic book. What he should definitely not be is a walking joke. But that’s exactly what he got turned into thanks to one little drawing mistake that got included in the final version of Avengers #160.

With this misprint it seemed as if the artist was working blind, moving from one panel to the next without actually checking to see what he just drew. The result is one panel in which the Grim Reaper pulls on his mask with two hands, clearly in a state of distress.

In the very next panel he is flying through the air and one of his very human hands from the panel before is now nothing but a shiny metallic hook. So which one is canon? We’ll either never know, or the Grim Reaper simply has the ability to grow and lose hands at will.
