If there was one word you'd use to define the relationship between Bruce Banner and his radiated alter-ego the Hulk, you'd likely go for the word antagonistic. In the many years the pair have shared a body, they've been almost continually at war with one another - a war that only temporarily ends when the pair have a mutual enemy to work together against.

As such, Immortal Hulk did some profound strides in changing the dynamic between the two. As the Hulk exists as a gamma-radiated manifestation of Bruce's childhood trauma at the hands of his abusive father, Immortal Hulk saw the green beast reformed into a figure that sought to protect Banner, instead of solely to fight against him.
