10 Most Evil Spider-Man Villains
7. Swarm
First thing's first: bees are awesome. They're fuzzy, love flowers, help us actually live, and are so ungracious in flight that they're impossible not to root for. Like yeah, little guy! Go get that flower!
Conversely, beings comprised entirely of bees? They are not awesome. Candyman? Big creep. And it just so happens that Marvel has a bee-weirdo of their own too: Swarm, who by the way is also a Nazi (just in case it wasn't evil enough already).
Introduced all the way back in 1977 by Bill Mantlo and John Byrne, Fritz von Meyer was one of the Third Reich's scientists who fled Europe following Germany's defeat in World War 2. He travelled to South America where, upon encountering a mutated colony of bees, he was eaten alive. Rather than that being the end of the story, the German scientist's mind melded with that of the colony's.
From that point on, Fritz decided to rename himself Swarm and get up to all sorts of nasty business, using the bees not for good, but for evil. He's easily defeated each time he shows up (with his most hilarious one coming at the hands of Squirrel Girl), but the fact he continues to use one of the Earth's most wholesome creatures for his own personal gain is truly despicable.
