Seen In: Green Lantern: Mosaic #2 Known as the guardians of the universe, the Green Lantern Corps is an intergalactic peace-keeping force charged with maintaining order across the cosmos. There have been several Earthlings who have served in the Corps (Hal Jordan and John Stewart being the most famous of them), but there are numerous beings from different alien species who have also served in the Corps. One such Green Lantern was Ch'p. A creature resembling an anthropomorphic squirrel or chipmunk, Ch'p may not be the most notable Green Lantern, but he's certainly the most adorable. But this was the early 90s, and after Watchmen and The Dark Knight Returns, there was no longer room in comics for any such cutesy characters. While Ch'p and John Stewart were patrolling the makeshift city called Mosaic World, Ch'p had regained his lost memories. But after a battle with a being and regaining his power, Ch'p called out to John Stewart. It was there on the road that a yellow truck barreled down on them. John got out of the way, but Ch'p wasn't so lucky and he was flattened. And so Ch'p, Green Lantern of H'lven, ended up as with three words that I never thought I would type: Green Lantern roadkill. The 90s were a weird time for comics.
