10 Most Insane Deaths In Comics History

4. Jenny Sparks Electrocutes God's Brain

Seen In: The Authority #12 Jenny Sparks was a Century Baby, specifically the Spirit of the 20th Century. With the ability to control electricity, she had an impact on many important historical events in her time. Introduced in the pages of Stormwatch, she later formed The Authority, a team of superheroes willing to push the envelope in order to protect the world. Imagine the Avengers or the Justice League if they had no problem with killing their enemies or overthrowing nations in order to serve the greater good. But Jenny had a death sentence. Being the Spirit of the 20th Century meant that she would come in as well as go out with the era she represented, which meant at midnight on New Year's Eve of 1999, Jenny would die. So for a woman who led such an incredible life, it only stands to reason that Jenny wouldn't settle for simply laying down and dying quietly. Instead, at the end of the 20th century, an organism had come to Earth from deep space. Eons ago, this organism had created the Earth and was essentially God. Its plan was to wipe the Earth clean of all forms of life, so in their inter-dimensional sentient ship, the Carrier, Jenny and The Authority journeyed inside God's body, fighting through its antibodies until they reached the brain. Jenny believed herself to be humanity's defense mechanism and she told God that the Earth belonged to her and she would see to it that mankind made it into the 21st century. Jenny channeled every ounce of power she had into the organism's brain, killing it instantly and saving the entire world. In the words of her teammate, the Doctor, "Only Jenny Sparks could finish a fight by executing God U.S.-prison-style."
