10 Most Powerful Characters Killed By Blade

6. Every Vampire In Manhattan

Blade Vampires
Marvel Comics

During the world-changing events caused by Hydra and the Cosmic Cube, New York City is trapped in a bubble of Darkforce energy, like a snow globe. Since it is blocking out the sunlight, it has given the vampires of Manhattan free and unfettered access 24/7 access to the living. Unfortunately for the vampires, they are trapped in Manhattan with Blade.

In The Secret Empire: Brave New Worlds story entitled “Lessons”, Blade has gone undercover as an elementary school substitute teacher to find the Blood Sire. He uses garlic spray, holy water-infused finger paint, and under-cooked meatloaf to make the vampire reveal itself. He thinks he has chosen the right boy named Timmy but is chased away by the overbearing principal before he can stake him.

Blade returns later to find the Principal sucking blood from tissues from kids that had bloody noses in the nurse's office. When Blade confronts her, she transforms into a powerful strigoi and overpowers Blade, knocking the sword from his hand. Timmy, who is actually a vampire, hands Eric the stake he dropped early and the Daywalker kills the principal. Timmy reveals himself to be 200 years old and just wanted to be able to go to school for once. He and Blade walk out into the New York streets, talking about the resiliency of the city.
