10 Most Powerful Characters Killed By Thor

9. Loki - Thor #432

Thor vs Hulk Marvel
Marvel Comics

Unlike the MCU, Thor and Loki's relationship in the comics is far more tumultuous, and the God of Mischief's desire to ascend to Asgard's throne is only matched by his insatiable desire to make his brother's life a living hell. All attempts at mending fences between the two were short-lived, at best, and were not genuine (at least as far as it came to Loki).

The brothers' rivalry came to a deadly end in the 1991 storyline "At Death Do We Part", where Loki made a deal with the underworld leader Mephisto to achieve a decisive victory over his brother. The plan kicked off with Loki kidnapping a human child named Kevin Masterson (at the time, his father Eric had merged with Thor), and the sequence of events that followed saw Loki kill one of Eric's friends.

This angered Thor, who in turn used a spell to strip Loki of his immortality, effectively killing him. Unfortunately, this act led to Thor's banishment and the deal between the two villains took shape, ensuring that Loki would possess Odin's body and rule Asgard.
