10 Most Powerful Swords In Comics History
8. Muramasa Blade
Armed with three Adamantium claws on each hand, Wolverine is probably the last guy you’d expect to be in need of a sword, yet that’s exactly what Logan commissioned from the swordsmith Muramasa shortly after the death of his wife Itsu.
Inspired from the real-life sixteenth century Japanese swordsmith, Sengo Muramasa, the Marvel version of this historical figure forged a blade using a piece of Logan’s soul, his blood and his own desire for revenge. The end result was a weapon that could cut through anything at a molecular level, even through Adamantium, as well as kill anything with a high healing factor.
As effective as Wolverine’s claws usually are at getting the job done, the Muramasa Blade proved particularly useful when he went against the likes of Nuke, Sabretooth and Daken, since the injuries caused by this sword don’t heal easy. At one point, Logan even gave this particularly dangerous katana to Cyclops, to use it in case one day Logan completely lost his sanity and had to be put down.
The Muramasa Blade may not be as flashy and powerful as some of the other swords on this list, but since it can actually kill Wolverine, it’s a weapon that should not be underestimated.
