9. Excalibur

Excalibur is a weapon that needs no introduction. King Arthur’s fabled blade is probably the most famous sword of all time and for good reason.

The Marvel version of this mystical weapon is every bit as powerful as one might expect, being capable of killing any being, whether mortal, immortal, ethereal or material (a very handy power in a place as dangerous as the Marvel Universe), as well as grant its user invincibility and the ability to sense magic. No wonder Doctor Doom was so eager to get his hands on it. Also, Excalibur’s scabbard can make the wielder invulnerable.

Apart from Doom and King Arthur, of course, the sword has also been wielded by Iron Man during one of his time traveling trips. Excalibur’s current owner is Dr. Faiza Hussain, who has also adopted the blade’s name as her own superhero moniker.
