5. The Ultimate Comic Anthology (Goal: $200,000/Pledged: $14)

Eric Stock seemed to have heard of "user-generated content" about five minutes before conceiving this idea and replied, "Huh, why hasn't anyone ever tried to do anything like that with comics?" While his intent not to take any rights away from artists and share profits is admirable, such basic good intentions are not nearly enough to attract talent to an anthology. Stock seems to have no plan to do so beyond calling his anthology ultimate yet guaranteeing some level of publication to anyone who bothers to submit, while relying on crowdsourcing to read and rank all the submissions too. In short, his plan amounts to hoping the Internet comes together not only to fund his project but to do almost all the work for him. And then there are the video's bizarre musical choices.
