10 Most Underrated Superman Villains
8. Toyman
Winslow Schott was a visionary toy inventor, which earned him the moniker, Toyman. Unfortunately, his employer, Lex Luthor, didn't understand his brilliance and let him go from his company, driving Schott insane. Taking his rage out on society, he turned his toys into weapons and embraced his new life as a supervillain.
At first, Schott may feel like he's in the wrong rogue's gallery. Surely an evil toymaker would fair better against the Flash or Batman, not the most powerful superhero on Earth.
But the British inventor is far more dangerous than he appears. Because he's a master toymaker, it's easy for him to lure children away, allowing him to take them hostage. Because his arsenal tends to take the form of wind-up army soldiers or teddy bears, authority figures and superheroes regularly let their guard down around Toyman weapons until it's too late.
Point is, one shouldn't underestimate Toyman's resourcefulness. He has immobilised Superman by using kryptonite-laced toys and ambushed him with decoys of himself or hostages. He also built an android of Superman and made it go on a crime spree in order to incriminate the Boy Scout superhero.
