10 Must-Read Comic Book Christmas Specials

1. Batman vs. Superman: Eve Of Christmas - 'Yes, Tyrone, There Is A Santa Claus'

It's no surprise that the next instalment of DC's movie universe features Batman and Superman trading blows as they seem to brawl at any given opportunity. Despite being set during the season of peace and love, 'Yes Tyrone, There Is A Santa Claus' features one of the most enjoyable conflicts between the two heroes. The tale begins, as many Christmas specials do, with a child doubting the existence of Santa.

Superman is touched by the young boy's words and decides that he must dress up as St. Nick to restore the magic of the holiday. As he prepares to make a grand entrance he is interrupted by Batman who tells him that this small act of kindness is beneath him, that he should be saving the world instead of focusing one child's diminished Christmas spirit. While perhaps a bit hard-hearted, Batman certainly has a point. It's a shame that the only reason he makes it is so that he can be the one to dress up as 'Bat-Santa' and steal some good-will.

The charade doesn't last for long however and when Superman realizes that he's been tricked, Bruce Wayne finds himself being punched out of his ridiculous fake beard. The last panel of this comic is fantastic not only for the aforementioned punch but also because in his super-wrath, Kal-El lays a beating on 'Santa' in front of two terrified children, forever ruining the holidays for them both. Merry Christmas!
