10 Must-Read Comic Book Christmas Specials

3. Spider-Man Stops Creepy Intruder - 'You'd Better Watch Out...'

There€™s something about shifty men dressing up as Santa that comic book artists can€™t resist. This special edition of Spider-Man, deals with loneliness over the holidays, an inventive burglary plot and also wins bonus points for its terrifying name, €˜You€™d Better Watch Out€ You Never Make A Sound!'.

The villain has dressed as Santa Claus so that he can gain information from kids about their parents€™ homes€ I said it was inventive not sane. While this spine-chilling child whisperer is up to no good, Peter is moping around wondering why nobody is visiting him on Christmas. In reality it€™s a series of wacky misunderstandings with him just missing friends and family every time they try to call, classic!

This seasonal ennui doesn't dampen his Spidey-Senses though, and soon Spider-Man and Sinister Santa are set on a collision course. When this creepy impersonator breaks into his neighbour Bambi€™s apartment, instead of using the front door, Peter Parker flies into a symbiote-suited rage and smashes through her window, scaring the villain away. It€™s not even Spidey that defeats the villain, as he€™s escaping to the roof the burglar gets kidnapped by the real Santa. The next time you see this menace to the holidays he's completely changed his ways which I assume has been caused by either Christmas magic or festive thumbscrews.
