The Man-Beast has existed since 1966, and yet still looks like something out of a childhood nightmare about cartoons. He does actually have a fairly interesting back-story – that you just can’t focus on, because he just looks so wrong (on so many levels).

Speaking of wrong, there’s also the small matter of his powers. As an animal-man hybrid, it makes sense for him to have things like super-strength and heightened senses. Even the later physic powers Man-beast gains are kind of excusable, as against figures like Thor they don’t seem that over-powered.

However, on top of these, Man-beast has had force-fields, anti-matter force fields, the ability to teleport and the ability to see infrared as powers across the years. Had he kept comic popularity, god only knows how many powers this villain could have ended up with.
