10 Powers You Didn't Know Famous Comic Characters Possessed

5. Doctor Doom - Various Esoteric Powers

Like the Mandarin, Doctor Doom has so many weird and wonderful abilities at his disposal that it would be unfair to the character to simply point out one, so let's take a look at a few of the crazy abilities he has displayed off-the-cuff over the years. You may think that Doctor Doom is all about planning and preparation - and he's certainly brilliant at that - but his standard armour that he wears all the time grants him an array of powers that you probably didn't realise he possessed. Take the above picture, for example - Doom had been wrapped up in Reed Richards' elastic arm when, out of nowhere, Reed began to freeze. Doom's in-built refrigeration unit was responsible for this. Doom also has an in-built forcefield in his armour, which has allowed him to take hits from Thor's hammer Mjolnir and survive the harsh energies of the Beyonder's dimension. Contrary to the armours freezing abilities, the armour can also generate massive electric shocks on contact with opponents - shocks powerful enough to temporarily immobilise Ben Grimm. Also, the armour is also a self-supporting entity, featuring internal stores and recycling systems for air, food, water and even energy, enabling Doom to survive lengthy periods of exposure underwater or in outer space. Heck, it even has remnants of the true cross merged with it, so that vampires can't get too close to him. Moreover, Doom possesses powerful magic-casting abilities. His armour even enables him to auto-cast certain spells without saying a word, such as the powerful Crimson Bands, which are magical restraints capable of holding beings as strong as the Hulk. Essentially, Doom's armour makes him ready for almost anything.
