8. He Doesn't Make Sense As An Avenger
Fans and studios alike clamoured for Sony to either give up the rights to Spider-Man, or else to work in collaboration with Marvel Studios to make their character a part of their Shared Cinematic Universe, which opened the door to the wall crawler appearing alongside Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man and co. in an Avengers film.
Spidey has held Avengers membership numerous times in the comics, from the days where almost every hero in the Marvel Universe was a reserve members of Earth's Mightiest Heroes to recent years when he's been specifically recruited, first for the skeleton crew New Avengers and more recently both for the galaxy-spanning Avengers proper and Luke Cage's street-level Mighty Avengers.
The problem is, Spider-Man doesn't work as an Avenger. For one thing, where would he find the time? He's one of the few members of the team who has a secret identity. Speaking of which, do they know his identity? And if not, why should they trust him? Plus he isn't much of a team player, mainly appearing as comic relief. Which doesn't give much for him to do.
