10 Problems With Marvel's Secret Wars Nobody Wants To Admit
9. Oh, The Delays
Of course, that five months thing has always been an estimate, with the core Secret Wars limited series having always been a little vague in its scheduling. At this point it isn't so much undecided as it is completely off the rails, with reports that issues are being delayed up to a whole month after the first few issue were fortnightly. Whether it's artist Esad Ribic struggling to keep up, editorial problems or printing issues is unknown. But because all the tie-ins are so close to the main narrative, every time an issue of Secret Wars gets delayed, all of them get delayed too. Otherwise, they might give away revelations that were supposed to appear first in the core book. Which makes sense, but it means that those delays could push back the entire line of comics Marvel is publishing right now. The worst case scenario is there are weeks where Marvel just don't publish anything. That's a pretty dire state of affairs. And it means fans have to wait even longer for the whole thing to be over.
