Geoff Johns' love of the DCU can be felt in every panel of the comics he writes, so it'll be great to see him writing a story again.

Johns, in his role as Chief Creative Officer for DC, doesn't get so much time to make actual comics these days. He's too busy with his hands crafting the overall shape of the DC Universe, working with the big movie productions and more.

The last comic to come out from Johns himself as a writer was in fact DC Universe Rebirth, though he has been involved in some of the stories that connect to the wider Rebirth mystery. So Doomsday Clock is not only a big story, it's the big return of Geoff Johns as a writer.

Johns' work for years read like a list of DC's biggest events, from Infinite Crisis, Green Lantern: Rebirth, Flash: Rebirth, The Sinestro Corps War, Blackest Night, and Flashpoint, among many others. Doomsday Clock may be his biggest yet.

So having Johns return to the writers seat for this series is in itself something to be excited about.
