There is a reason why Superman is the most iconic superhero of them all. Though some might consider him a little overpowered, not even the Man of Steel can save everyone all the time and that is especially true in the Injustice universe.

When he discovers that he’s going to be a father, little does Clark Kent suspect that the happiest day in his life will turn out to be the worst, simply because for once, Joker decided to switch things up.

When Jimmy Olsen is killed and Lois Lane kidnapped, Superman enlists the help of the Justice League and tracks down Joker and Harley Quinn to a submarine. When he confronts the pair, a kryptonite enhanced Scarecrow toxin makes the Man of Steel see his beloved Lois as Doomsday. When he takes her to space, Clark inadvertently kills his wife and unborn child along with the entire city of Metropolis, since her heart was the trigger for a warhead Joker stole.

A distraught Superman kills Joker, but it is an empty victory. The Man of Steel’s shocking failure to save so many people will eventually lead him to the path of villainy.
