In 2001, Marvel released stories under the MAX Comics imprint. These were comics for readers who over the age of 18. The stories included Blade, Cage, Deadpool MAX, The Eternals, Alias, Black Widow: Pale Little Spider, Fury, Howard the Duck, Punisher, Supreme Power, Wolverine MAX and many others. Although these stories were very influential and highly praised, Stan Lee didn’t like them due to their gratuitous violence and unnecessary swearing. It’s common knowledge that Stan has never been a fan of vulgarity.

Which is ironic because his favorite DC character is….. Lobo. In case you didn’t know, Lobo is an intergalactic bounty hunter who has killed millions of innocent people including his own children. In one story, he blew up a city 83,000 years in a row. He is so scary, the Devil banned him from Hell. If you haven’t heard of Lobo, that’s because DC have difficulty making toys of the character since he’s considered too mature for children.

For… some reason, Stan Lee can’t get enough of him. In his own words, Lobo “was the worst human being on Earth, and he was so evil and vile and strong and ugly, and I loved him!

Stan calls the character “unique” and he hated how he belonged to DC because “they never knew what to do with him.”
