2. Sherlock Holmes Vs Joker
Batman was, at least in part, inspired by Sherlock Holmes. Much like the great detective from 221B Baker Street, Batman is known for his intelligence and ability to solve even the most confusing and shocking crimes. After all, Batman isn't called the World's Greatest Detective for nothing. While Sherlock is often seen to clash with his nemesis, Moriarty, in Joker #6, it is the Clown Prince of Crime that locks horns with Sherlock Holmes.
The Joker crashes a local theatre play of Sherlock Holmes while dressed as Moriarty, hoping to wreak havoc on the cast. The lead actor is knocked out during Joker’s attack and, upon waking, believes that he is Holmes.
The lead actor, Clive Sigerson, then begins foiling Joker’s crimes around Gotham, using Sherlock’s own unique detective style to do so and truly annoying the Joker in the process.
It's clear that, through a crazy act that could only happen in comics, another of the Joker's whacky plans have backfired on him.
