Gotham's most prominent eco-terrorist, Poison Ivy is one of the villains on this list who has one of the more sympathetic motives behind her criminal acts.

Controlling plant life may not seem impressive at first, but Ivy's feats have elevated her to the upper echelons of villainy in the DC universe.

The villainess (and occasional antiheroine) has achieved incredible feats such as revive extinct plant life, use her pheromone manipulation to control beings as powerful as Superman, and her physical prowess and combat skill are potent enough to challenge Batman in a fight.

Her time on the Suicide Squad began with her being forced onto the team (a common thread for nearly all its members) in order to stop the Vlatavan supervillain, Count Vertigo.

The royal baddie is leading a revolution against the then-current regime, and Ivy's abilities are key in stopping Vertigo's plans.
