2. Hela
Moving from Asgardian god-like to ... well, an Asgardian goddess. In Norse mythology, the names Hel and Hela are used interchangeably. In the Marvel Universe, Hela is the female embodiment of the realm of the dead. It is her domain where the dead who have not earned valour in battle go to pass their eternal years after life. It is Hela who controls the kingdom where they exist for all eternity. She is a jealous goddess and one who does not give up her domain lightly. To all appearances, Hela has ambition. Not only has she tried to take Thor's soul, Odin's soul, but she has also tried to extend her domain to control the souls of the heroes of Valhalla as well as the poor buggers who wind up dying of natural, non-heroically related causes. I've had a theory about this woman; I don't really think she's interested in expanding her kingdom I just think she's a frustrated people-person. This is just an extremely over-done case of trying to gain influence and win friends on a mythological scale. I mean, why else would she not be happy with just ruling a kingdom? Granted, a kingdom of dead people, but hey ... In terms of a valentine from this woman, well, seeing as one of Hela's most notable powers includes a fatal touch of death to all mortals she encounters, your valentine would probably involve a one-way ticket to Hel, with a stop-off tour of Niffleheim on the way. But at least you'd have a lot of friends.
