10 Superheroes With Shockingly Deadly Powers

2. Black Lightning

Invisible Woman
DC Comics

Black Lightning was created by Tony Isabella and Trevor Von Eeden. He has been a hero for many years, first getting his electrical powers from a specially created belt before those powers became enteral when Jefferson Pierce’s metagene was activated. It is Jeff’s ability to manipulate those electrical forces that makes him a particularly dangerous man.

Other than simply using his lightning to burn someone where they stand, Black Lightning can kill people in much subtler ways with his powers. It only takes between 1.0 to 4.3 amps to stop the human heart. That is a tiny pop of energy for Jeff. And it is well documented in Psychological circles that electrical shocks have impacts on the mind. Generally, those shocks are minor. But imagine if they rise to the level of the 20 watts of energy that the brain uses to work. Imagine if they exceed it.

Black Lightning could use his powers to destroy the power grid, throwing vast areas into darkness, computers, and even medical equipment causing the deaths of people without even touching them. His ability to create force fields could simply protect himself and leave his opponent to die outside in a harsh environment. Thankfully, the street-wise Jefferson Pierce is a good man despite his hardships. But he could have easily gone the other way.
