I mean... does it need to be explained why being rescued by Homelander is a bad idea?

The leader of The Seven may be perceived as the world's greatest superhero but that's because Homelander has best PR team money can buy. Even though the public believe he is an alien from a dead world, Homelander is a human being who was raised in a lab. He served as a guinea pig for Compound V, an experimental brew that endows its host with superpowers.

The scientists who looked after Homelander as a young boy were so terrified of him, they tied him to a nuclear bomb in case he got out of control. Because he was offered no affection throughout his upbringing, Homelander grew up to become a lecherous, egomaniacal sadist.

Although he has saved many lives, he only does this to maintain his persona as a beloved superhero and national treasure. He cares so little for human life that he has repeatedly killed dozens of civilians out of boredom. Many people who have been rescued by Homelander have ended up deeply regretting it.
