When it comes to some of Superman’s most shocking moments, the Injustice: Gods Among Us video game and prequel comic offer up an absolute goldmine of horrendous acts carried out by a Boy Scout teetering on the edge.

For those unfamiliar with Injustice, the crux of the narrative is that Superman has gone insane and decided to use his god-like power to rule over mankind. The reason for this carnage-causing change of heart? Why, that would be down to the twisted antics of the Joker.

After one of the Jester of Genocide’s sinister schemes convinced the Man of Steel to kill millions of innocent Metropolis inhabitants – including Lois Lane and Supes’ unborn child – Superman finally does the unthinkable and punches a hole right through the Harlequin of Hate’s chest.

This all marked the beginning of the end for Superman’s run as the planet’s greatest hero, and in turn was the perfect launching point for one of the greatest beat ‘em up games to have come around in a long time.
