10 Surprising Comic Book Crossovers That Somehow Work

10. Justice League/Power Rangers

The Power Rangers were, to many, the zenith of nineties children's entertainment. A Japanese import based on the series known as Super Sentai, the Power Rangers focused on a group of American teens gifted with the power to morph into superheroes. Also they listened to a big floating head in a jar. It was a little weird.

In the decades since Power Rangers first aired, dozens of different incarnations of the team have followed. However, most fans tend to believe that the original team - the Mighty Morphin Rangers - are the best, and so most media spinning out of the shows has focused on that group, on film, video games, and comic books.

However, although the Power Rangers have starred in plenty of their own comics, it is their crossover with DC's Justice League that might just be their best.

Written by Tom Taylor, the man behind X-Men Red, Injustice and the recently released DCeased, and with art from Stephen Byrne, the comic sees the original group of Rangers teaming up with DC's most famous heroes. It was a critical smash, showcasing the Rangers as they travelled to the DC Universe, and a prime example of how teaming up two different properties can bring great results.
