Deadpool, the anti-hero mercenary with a big mouth, is very rarely seen out of his costume with full head mask - and there's a good reason for that. The human mutate (yes, mutate, not mutant) has an accelerated healing factor - rather like that of Wolverine's - which was given to him artificially by virtue of the Weapon X program and which enables his body to regenerate any destroyed tissue at a superhuman rate and renders him immune to all known diseases. However, an unanticipated side effect of the treatment he was given was an acceleration of the cancerous tumours he was suffering from at the time, causing them to quickly spread across his entire body. As a result, he has massive scar tissue on his face, which causes his appearance to be severely deformed. So there you have it - ten terribly disfigured comic book characters.
