10 Things DC Wants You To Forget About Aquaman

8. Smallville Aquaman Was Not So Good

Jason Momoa's take on the King Of Atlantis won't be the first time Aquaman has appeared in live action. One of the running storylines in Hollywood satire (at least, that's what it billed itself as) Entourage had its main character, Adrian Grenier's Vincent Chase, playing the character in a fictional movie directed by James Cameron. Which was not very good. Far less post-modern was Aquaman's appearance in Smallville, the €œSuperman: The Early Years€ series that went on for so long it ended up dropping the latter half of that description and just became a straight-up superhero so. Clark Kent even moved to Metropolis and put together a Justice League. No tights until the final episode, mind. Alan Ritchson, who most recently voiced Raphael in the awful Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie reboot, starred as Aquaman in a couple of episodes of the show which were supposed to be a back-door pilot for his own series. Thankfully it didn't pan out, since this douche-tastic Arthur wore a orange hoodie approximating the classic costume, and had a naturist girlfriend for some reason.
