10 Things DC Wants You To Forget About The Penguin

4. He Fantasized About The Birds Of Prey

The Birds of Prey are a (mostly) all female group of superheroes assembled by Barbara Gordon.

During their 2010 series, the Birds rescued the Penguin after he was nearly killed by new villain White Canary. They then took the unconscious Oswald back to their base to recover.

Readers were then "treated" to a dream sequence in which Penguin imagines the team as his own personal harem, fawning over him and serving his every whim. It would be a gross enough scene on its own, but it also showcases just how similar his tastes are to his namesake. Good luck trying to ever rid your mind of the phrase "My lithe and lovely lutefish".

After getting knocked unconscious again, he had another dream in which he became a Superman like figure and rescued the superhero Dove.

Later it turned out that Penguin's injury was just a ruse anyway. He was actually working with White Canary to infiltrate the group so that he could later betray them. In return she gave him files on the superhero community.

Huntress then beat Oswald half to death and threatened to finish the job with her crossbow. Serves him right for having pervy dreams about her and her teammates, also the betraying and nearly killing them thing as well.

I was just a mild-mannered NCTJ accredited journalist until one day I found out the truth... that I could share my nerdy ramblings with people on the internet! It's just like mumbling to myself on the train, but without all the strange looks.
