As already covered in this article, Doctor Strange first appeared in Strange Tales #110 in July of 1963. Like with so many comic book "firsts", the issue has become very valuable and even a poor copy - as long as it is complete and readable - can easily sell for as much as $150 these days. However, a mint condition copy can seriously positively impact on your bank balance. In fact, such a copy sold for no less than $61,000 quite recently and even other "firsts" - like the first appearance of Baron Mordo as a Doctor Strange villain ($9,800), the origin tale of Doctor Strange ($8,000) and the first time Doctor Strange was given the Cloak of Levitation and Eye of Agamotto ($2,500) - have some very decent value behind them.
